The Hispanic Leaders Association (Asociación de Líderes Hispanos –ALH) was launched in 2005 as an initiative by several former participants in the U.S. Hispanic Leaders program run by the Fundación Carolina, for the purpose of conserving the synergies generated during the program and involving participants in the development and implementation of proposals in the areas of political, diplomatic, economic and cultural affairs that affect relations between the United States, Spain and Latin America.
Since its inception, the Fundación Consejo España – EE.UU. has shown its support for the activities of this young association; support that was demonstrated at the 3rd Hispanic Leadership Convention (Madrid, June 5 – 7, 2008), at which the Fundación hosted a luncheon for the over 80 attendees of this important gathering held outside the United States for the first time, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Visitor Program.
In October 2013, Fundación President Juan Rodríguez Inciarte, and ALH President Laura Maristany signed an agreement establishing collaboration between their two institutions, under which the Fundación has supported a number of Association activities, such as the Washington, D.C. meeting with Minister of Justice of Spain, Rafael Catalá in November 2015.
