José Manuel Entrecanales
José Manuel Entrecanales is Chairman and CEO of ACCIONA, a leading group of companies dedicated to renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure solutions, present in more than 60 countries with 40.000 employees. He is also Chairman of ACCIONA Energía, the group’s energy division that listed on the Madrid stock exchange in July 2021. ACCIONA Energía is the largest pure renewable energy utility in the world.
He is an active member of some of the main corporate organizations that foster sustainable development and the fight against climate change, including the United Nations Global Compact, the World Bank’s Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
He is a Founding Trustee of the Pro CNIC Foundation (Spain’s leading public-private cardiovascular research initiative), and a Trustee of the Princess of Asturias Foundation, of the Prado Museum and of the Alalá Foundation.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Family Business Institute, a leading family business association in Spain which he chaired between 2012 and 2014.
José Manuel Entrecanales is Chairman of the acciona.org Foundation, which focuses on universal access to clean water and power.
He was recently appointed Ambassador of Marca España.
