Last Thursday, the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Consejo España–EE. UU. took part in a working breakfast organized by the U.S. Embassy in Spain exclusively for the Fundación’s Board of Trustees, focusing on the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market.

The session featured Will Rinehart, Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and a specialist in the political economy of technology and innovation. Rinehart has conducted research on technology regulation, innovation and artificial intelligence and has worked with institutions including Utah State University’s Center for Growth and Opportunity, the American Action Forum and TechFreedom. His analysis has appeared in outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Wired, Forbes and The Hill, and he regularly participates in debates on technology policy.

During the session, Rinehart presented “The AI Adoption Gap and Some Possible Futures of AI and Labor,” exploring the existing gap in AI adoption, its relationship with productivity, and the transformations it may bring to employment. The presentation was followed by an open dialogue with the Fundación’s Board of Trustees, who had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange perspectives directly with the expert.

The session is part of the close collaboration between the Fundación Consejo España–EE. UU. and the U.S. Embassy in Spain and Andorra, which provides the Fundación’s Board of Trustees with access to leading experts and voices on issues of particular relevance to relations between Spain and the United States.
