U.S. Congressional Staffers
We organize this program together with the Embassy of Spain in Washington D.C. to encourage communication between the Spanish government and the U.S. Congress.
Madrid and Segovia, from July 2 to 7, 2023
Since 2018, the Fundación Consejo España – EE.UU., in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Washington D.C. and with funds provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, has implemented a U.S. Congressional Staff Visitor Program. This program follows U.S. laws and regulations, and is authorized under the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act of 1961.
The program’s week-long schedule of visits and meetings aims to promote communication and enhance relations between the Spanish public administration and the United States Congress by facilitating mutual knowledge of legislative initiatives affecting both countries’ bilateral relationship. The program also seeks to make U.S. officials aware of the close relationship that exists between Spain and the United States in a number of different fields, particularly defense and security, and of Spain’s role in the European Union and NATO.
