Daniel Meza
Since 2016, Danny Meza has served as Chief of Staff to Con-gressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX). Danny manages the office’s day to day operations including the Congressman’s foreign af-fairs and national security portfolio in the House Foreign Affairs and Intelligence committees. In addition to committee work, Danny manages the Congressman’s work as Co-Chair of the U.S- Japan Caucus, the Congressional Caucus on ASEAN, United States-Spain Council and the Diplomatic Cable, a foreign policy focused podcast.
Prior to joining Congressman Castro’s office, Danny served as an appointee with the Obama Ad-ministration from 2009-2013. During his time with the Obama Administration, Danny worked as a Senior Advisor in the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) at the U.S. Department of Commerce advancing U.S. national security, foreign policy and economic objectives furthering President Obama’s Export Control Reform Initiative with the relevant congressional committees.
Danny is a member of Next Generation Task Force for United States- Japan Conference on Cultural & Educational Exchange. In October 2015, Danny was named by Huffington Post as one the 40 un-der 40: Latinos in Foreign Policy. Danny was born in San Antonio, Texas and a graduate the Univer-sity of Texas at San Antonio and John Marshall Law School where he received his J.D. and LL.M in International Trade Law.
