Ángeles Moreno Bau was appointed to the position of State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs at the Council of Ministers meeting held on 20 July 2021.

Born in Madrid in 1968, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and has been a member of the Diplomatic Corps since 1994. She has held posts in Russia, Panama, Egypt, Sierra Leona, Mexico and the United Kingdom and was Assistant Under-Secretary-General for Cooperation and External Cultural Promotion, and Ambassador on Special Mission for Energy Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Assistant Director-General for International Relations and Immigration, and Director-General for International Relations at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Chief of Staff of the State Secretary for​ Defence; and Chief of Staff of the Secretary-General for Presidency of the Government. She has held the post of Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation since July 2018.
